# Connect Claude Desktop

Stellaris Companion provides a packaged Claude Desktop connection for the simplest local setup.

## Install

1. Open Stellaris Companion and select a campaign.
2. Open **Settings**, then **MCP Relay**.
3. Choose the Claude Desktop install action.
4. Run the MCP health check.
5. Restart Claude Desktop so it discovers the extension.

In a new conversation, ask Claude to use Stellaris Companion for a campaign question. If the tool is connected but no campaign is available, return to the Companion and verify that a save has been ingested.

The extension exposes structured campaign context; it does not upload your raw save as an attachment.
