# Install Stellaris Companion

Stellaris Companion is an open-source desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

## Download

Use the [download section](https://galacticfilingcabinet.com/#download) for the recommended installer, or open the [latest GitHub release](https://github.com/gitmaan/stellaris-companion/releases/latest) to choose an asset directly.

## Open the app

- **macOS:** open the downloaded disk image and drag Stellaris Companion to Applications.
- **Windows:** run the installer. If SmartScreen appears, verify the publisher context and source before continuing.
- **Linux:** use the package supplied in the latest release.

The app may need permission to read the folder where Stellaris stores save games. It does not need your Paradox account password.
