# How to prepare for the Stellaris endgame crisis

Endgame preparation is not one fleet-power target. It is the ability to absorb surprise, learn the crisis's mechanics, move force across the galaxy, and keep replacing losses.

## Five layers of preparation

1. **Economic depth:** sustained alloy output, energy for upkeep, and reserves that survive a disrupted trade network.
2. **Production:** several protected shipyards and a reinforcement route that does not depend on one chokepoint.
3. **Mobility:** gateways, relays, jump options, and forward bases that reduce response time.
4. **Adaptation:** enough research, intelligence, and redesign capacity to answer the actual crisis instead of a guessed one.
5. **Political resilience:** allies, subjects, federations, or diplomatic breathing room that prevent opportunistic conventional wars.
