Use Stellaris with Claude and Codex

Connect a local AI client to campaign context without uploading raw saves or pasting giant reports.

On this page

Stellaris Companion can serve structured campaign context to supported local AI clients through MCP. The client asks for the relevant briefing and reasons in its own chat.

Before connecting

  1. Install Stellaris Companion.
  2. Connect a campaign save.
  3. Verify the newest snapshot in the app.
  4. Open Settings → MCP Relay and run the health check.

Then follow the client-specific guide for Claude Desktop or Codex.

Productive prompts

  • “Use Advisor Briefing first. What changed in my economy since the previous snapshot?”
  • “Assess whether I can fight this war without collapsing alloy replacement.”
  • “Use Chronicle source material to draft this era as a skeptical senate historian.”

Keep the agent’s claims inspectable. It should distinguish extracted facts, historical trends, and strategic inference. For Chronicle, ask it to save back only after you approve the draft.
