Stellaris Companion 0.8.1AI App Connections, Languages, and Better Quota

This release added MCP Relay for local AI apps, improved Gemini free-tier usage with Flash-Lite routing, expanded multilingual support, and refreshed Advisor guidance for Stellaris 4.3.

Highlights

What Changed in 0.8.1

MCP

Connect Local AI Apps

Claude Desktop, Codex, and other MCP-capable clients can work with the latest local campaign context through Stellaris Companion.

API

More Free-Tier Advisor Requests

Standard quota routes Advisor chat through Gemini Flash-Lite, stretching daily free-tier usage while keeping quality controls available.

I18N

Multilingual App Support

The interface, Advisor responses, and Chronicle output support seven languages, including German, French, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

AI App Connections

MCP Relay brings campaign context to local AI tools

Version 0.8.1 added a production MCP Relay so local AI apps can ask Stellaris Companion for campaign context without scraping the UI or touching save files directly.

  • Claude Desktop, Codex, and other MCP clients can read Advisor and campaign context.
  • Advisor and campaign tools are read-only by default.
  • Chronicle save, edit, create, and undo flows require explicit user intent.
Gemini Quota

Standard quota now goes further

Advisor chat can route through Gemini Flash-Lite when the standard quota profile is selected, making the app more practical for users on the Gemini free tier.

  • Quota-aware routing chooses the right Gemini model for the selected profile.
  • Settings present simpler quota and quality controls.
  • Chat messages surface model-routing context more clearly.
Localization

The app now follows the language you play in

The multilingual update covers app labels, generated Advisor responses, and Chronicle output, with language-aware memory so campaign context stays coherent.

  • Supported languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
  • Advisor and Chronicle prompts receive an explicit language policy.
  • Language-specific Advisor and Chronicle caches are kept separate.

Reliability

Updated Stellaris guidance and release reporting

The release also refreshed strategic guidance for Stellaris 4.3 and repaired in-app issue reporting in packaged builds.

  • Advisor knowledge reflects current Stellaris 4.3 mechanics.
  • Settings use a quieter layout with clearer connection controls.
  • Issue reports work correctly in public release builds.
