Read-only analyzer
Not a save editor
The Companion reads the file but never writes changes back to it.
Stellaris Companion reads your local .sav file, turns it into a structured campaign briefing, and lets you ask what your economy, fleets, planets, and neighbors are trying to tell you. It never edits the save. The paperwork is strictly observational.

The Companion is interested in your decisions, not in secretly making them for you. The checksum may remain calm.
Not a save editor
The Companion reads the file but never writes changes back to it.
Not a web upload form
The raw .sav stays on your machine and is parsed there.
Not a raw-data browser
It explains what the numbers mean and recommends what to inspect next.
Not one static report
Successive saves build a history of changes, events, and decisions.
These are abridged responses produced by the current Advisor against a representative United Nations of Earth campaign save. The names and figures below came from that parsed file; the prose has been shortened for display.
CMD_INPUT
Your economy is suffering from a Consumer Goods deficit of −95.28 monthly. Overall production is robust, but this is the only resource drain. Review planetary designations and convert one suitable industrial world toward civilian production before the stockpile masks a persistent shortfall.
Modules: ECONOMY · PLANETS · RESOURCE FLOW
CMD_INPUT
With more than 360,000 fleet power, 13 fleets, +2,269 alloys per month, three defensive pacts, and a 379,710 alloy stockpile, the empire is in a strong position for sustained conflict. Naval capacity is uncertain, but the save indicates ample reinforcement capacity.
Modules: MILITARY · DIPLOMACY · READINESS
CMD_INPUT
Consumer Goods remain the persistent risk: −95.28 per month while a war with the Steccashi Conservers is active. Convert part of industrial production to civilian goods so high-tech jobs can continue without steadily consuming the stockpile.
Modules: PRIORITY · INDUSTRY · ACTIVE WAR
Different empire. Different problems. Same filing procedure.
Quite a lot. Some of it could probably have remained classified.
Resources, monthly income, deficits, stockpiles, trade value, market prices, and pop jobs.
Fleet power, ship composition, naval usage, starbases, active wars, and known threats.
Relations, allies, rivals, treaties, federations, subjects, and closed borders.
Completed technologies, current research, traditions, repeatables, and ascension perks.
Rulers, admirals, scientists, governors, traits, levels, and leadership changes.
Colonies, planet health, systems, districts, buildings, and archaeology sites.
Crises, Fallen Empires, the Great Khan, the War in Heaven, and other late-game signals.
Campaign snapshots, wars, contacts, rulers, policies, megastructures, and major events.
Four steps. No upload ritual. No attempt to improve your empire by editing history after the fact.
The app watches the normal Stellaris save folders and selects the newest .sav, or you can choose a folder yourself.
A Rust-based parser opens the save on your machine and extracts the campaign state without changing the source file.
The useful parts become structured context: economy, military, diplomacy, planets, technology, history, and more.
Gemini receives the structured briefing through your API key and answers about this empire rather than a hypothetical one.
We do not need custody of the empire's personnel file. The useful distinction is between the raw save and the structured briefing created from it.

None. The project is free and open source.
The Advisor does not need you to translate the empire into a spreadsheet first. That administrative position has been filled.
Save locations, Ironman, Steam Cloud, mods, privacy, and the entirely reasonable question of why an AI advisor needs an AI key.
Free and open source for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Compatible with Ironman. Gemini API key required for the built-in Advisor.
